The experience behind the perspective

In his published founder interview, Justin describes navigating the Belfast Primark fire and the pandemic, and why a team that works together matters. That experience informs the questions and practical challenge he brings to your business.

What happens in business coaching?

You work directly with Justin Milligan on a real business decision. Coaching helps you examine the facts, assumptions and options. Mentoring adds perspective from his experience of founding and running businesses. You remain responsible for the decisions.

Why it matters

When everything comes back to you, urgent jobs can crowd out the decisions that would change the business. A focused conversation creates time to work through them.

What 3B does

  • Understand the challenge, your numbers, team and practical constraints.

  • Challenge assumptions and compare options before choosing a priority.

  • Agree actions, owners and a review point to check what happened.

For owners facing growth choices, team issues or too many decisions on their own desk.

Choose what to work on first.

A crowded desk. A recurring question. Choose what sounds familiar, then turn the noise into a decision, an action and a review.

Does every decision come back to you?

On your desk

  • Approve the quote
  • Answer a team question
  • Check every handover
  • Chase an update
A better question

Which decisions genuinely need you?

Busy isn’t a plan.

Put the demands in front of you. Work out which decision is underneath them before adding another job to the list.

Start with the decisionWhat deserves your attention first?

A decision.
An owner.
A review date.

Turn the issue you bring into an agreed priority and an action someone owns. Set a date to review what happened.

Explore the plan and review views to see what you would take back into the business.

Specific enough to act on. Clear enough to review.

A conversation with something to show for it.

Bring a real challenge. We work through the options, choose useful next steps and agree how to review them. The format and level of support are agreed around your business.

  • A clear starting point.

Look at the business, the immediate challenge and what you want to change before choosing a direction.

  • Commercial perspective.

Bring demand, margins, team capacity and the way work gets done into the same conversation.

  • Decisions worked through.

Examine realistic options, test assumptions and make the important trade-offs explicit.

  • A practical action plan.

Turn the discussion into agreed priorities, responsibilities and next steps you can use.

  • Direct challenge and support.

Combine questions that sharpen your own judgement with mentoring drawn from operating experience.

  • A way to review progress.

Agree what to check and when to revisit it, so the plan can respond to what you learn.

What would a useful change look like?

A decision you keep postponing. A team that needs you for everything. An opportunity you cannot quite assess. Start there.

Ask 3B
How do we start?

Start with a conversation about the business, the challenge and what you want to change. You can ask Justin about his approach and decide whether it feels useful. Before any coaching work begins, we agree the scope, session format, frequency, support and fees.

What is the difference between coaching and mentoring?

Coaching helps you examine the situation, challenge assumptions and make your own decisions. Mentoring adds perspective from Justin’s experience of founding and running businesses. The balance depends on the challenge; you remain responsible for the decisions in your business.

What should I prepare?

Bring the challenge you want to work on, a little context about the business and any relevant information you already have. You do not need to create a presentation. We can agree what else would be useful after the initial discussion.

What will I come away with?

The work is intended to produce clearer priorities and a practical set of next steps, with responsibilities and a way to review progress. The exact scope, format and support are agreed before we begin. There is no one-size-fits-all programme or guaranteed commercial result.

Can 3B help put the plan into practice?

Where the next step involves a website, marketing, AI or a business system, 3B can discuss that separately. Coaching does not automatically include implementation or commit you to another service; any additional work is scoped and agreed first.

What’s taking up too much headspace?

Tell Justin a little about your business and the decision or challenge you are facing. You do not need to have the answer before you get in touch.
